Convention Center Description:
Playing up Hampton’s significance as a historic seaport, the look of the Hampton Roads Convention Center is purely nautical. Billowing canvases soar over the center’s main entrance, descending to canals of water that extend throughout the campus. The sprawling complex features 344,000 total square feet of convention and exhibit space, 35 meeting rooms with capacity for up to 14,000 delegates, a spacious 108,000-square-foot exhibit hall with oversized freight-loading doors, a grand ballroom with banquet seating for more than 2,000 and a 13,000-square-foot Conference Center within the larger venue. Convention delegates decompress on an outdoor terrace overlooking the convention center campus. The convention center also features an outdoor exhibit area, ideal for exhibiting recreational vehicles and heavy equipment.
Adjacent John Q. Hammons Embassy Suites Hotel and Hampton Coliseum:
Connected to the Hampton Roads Convention Center by covered walkway, is a 295 suites John Q. Hammons Embassy Suites Hotel. For additional meeting space, the Hampton Coliseum is just steps from the convention center and part of the overall campus. With 84,000 total square feet, the Coliseum can accommodate 11,000 people. Completing the landscape is 245,000 square feet of new retail and dining, located steps from the convention center’s meeting rooms.
Connectivity Capabilities: Meeting delegates’ high-tech needs took precedence in designing the Hampton Roads Convention Center. Features include data ports in meeting rooms/exhibit hall, connectivity throughout the pre-function areas and plasma computer screens throughout the convention center.
