If you break down, or simply want to get some work done on your boat, this is the place to do it. On the waterfront, or within a couple of blocks of it, your can get almost every kind of specialized skill or part.

There are two boat yards, two travel lifts and crane availability. Not far away are machine shops and a rubber company, a supplier offering hull repair and engine services, electrical and rigging expertise and companies specializing in marine electrical systems. There are three sailmakers and a shop offering skilled carpentry.

For those sailing into the Hampton harbor for a layover and replenishment stop, you’ll find everything you need within walking

distance of the Downtown marinas. Just four blocks away is a general delivery post office for cruisers, and a laundromat.

Even closer are four banks with automatic teller machines, attorneys, insurance companies and churches. A gourmet wine and cheese shop nearby caters to boaters. Specialty stores, restaurants and a liquor store are all within walking distance. A Downtown laundry service within walking distance will pick up and deliver.
